Timara Fox was injured in a Miami, Florida collision on Sunday, news sources report. Fox, 39, and her 9-year-old daughter were in their vehicle when Fox either fell asleep or lost consciousness and collided into the side of a house, sources say. Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital; they sustained minor injuries in the crash. No one inside the home was injured. Officials have evaluated the structural integrity of the house and say it may collapse when the vehicle is removed.
According to reports, the accident occurred at Northwest 12th Avenue and 40th Street around 11:00 Sunday morning. A red light is affixed at each entrance of the intersection to control the flow of traffic. Fox was in the driver’s seat of her Crown Victoria and her 9-year-old daughter was in the back seat as Fox approached the intersection. It appears Fox became incapacitated and lost control of her vehicle at that point. Her car reportedly veered off the roadway and crashed through the side of a nearby home.
Wallace Glenn was in the upstairs of the home when the collision occurred. Glenn ran down stairs and helped the vehicle’s occupants. “The little girl was screaming, ‘get [my] mom out of the car,'” Glenn told reporters. The Miami Fire Rescue team arrived at the scene and transported Fox and the daughter to a nearby hospital; both victims sustained only minor injuries in the accident. No one else appears to have been injured.
Police are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. It appears Fox may have suffered from a medical problem, which caused her to lose consciousness prior to the accident. “[The daughter] believes her Mom may have either fallen asleep or had a medical problem,” a Miami Fire Rescue spokesperson said. It is not clear whether the woman suffers from any pre-existing medical conditions that may have caused a fainting spell.
Housing officials inspected the home’s integrity following the crash and said the home may partially collapse when the vehicle is removed. The officials asked Glenn and his family to vacate the home until further notice.
