Matt Elam, a former University of Florida All-America football player and Baltimore Ravens player, was arrested in Miami on February 25 after he was allegedly found with 126 grams of marijuana and 3.1 grams of oxycodone pills. He faces charges for possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute/sell/manufacture, and reckless driving.

Elam, 25, is being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He was arrested with Calvin Stewart, 28; Fritz Narcisse, 22; and Abdud Narcisse, 23. Stewart faces charges for resisting an officer without violence and possession of a concealed weapon, and the Narcisse brothers are each facing misdemeanor marijuana possession charges. The press did not name attorneys for any of them.

Joel Ross Hamlar of Pompano Beach, Florida was arrested for his alleged involvement in a March car accident that killed Deborah Etienne and maimed her 15-year-old son, Jameson Etienne. Hamlar, 27, is facing 29 charges including reckless driving, possession of drugs, and DUI manslaughter.

Hamlar was arrested last Thursday after prosecutors learned he was planning to travel to Michigan, which made him a flight risk. He was ordered held without bond by Broward Judge Michael Davis during his first-appearance court session last Friday. News sources did not name an attorney for Hamlar.

Antonio Jackson of Miami Gardens, Florida was arrested by police on Monday after a televised high-speed chase on Interstate 95 that lasted for almost 30 minutes and ended with gunfire. Jackson, 24, was identified by family members who watched the pursuit on television.

Jackson faces charges for reckless driving with damage to property, attempting to elude a police officer, and driving with a suspended license. He was booked into Miami-Dade County Jail on Monday night, but was released on Tuesday after posting a preliminary bond of $15,000. It is unclear if Jackson has acquired the services of an attorney.

Daniel Sephes Jr. of Riviera Beach, Florida has been arrested for purportedly causing a fatal car crash that ended the life of Lenora Jean Price on March 12. Sephes, 36, faces charges for vehicular manslaughter and half a dozen counts of reckless driving. He was booked into Palm Beach County Jail, where he is still being held in lieu of $65,500 bond. The press did not specify whether Sephes has acquired legal representation.

According to the arrest report, the fatal accident occurred at 6:30 p.m. on Garden Road near Riviera Beach. Sephes was allegedly going over 70 mph to rush his wounded relative, Dashiell McGrady, to the hospital.
