cab-hand-iphone-34239-300x200Uber driver Joseph Soriero suffered multiple injuries and had to have his ear reattached after he was accosted in a road rage incident at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport.

According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the person who violently attacked Soriero was identified as Christian Alexander Gordon of West Park.

Gordon, 26, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery inflicting bodily hurt or disability. He was released on $10,000 bond. The press did not name an attorney for him.

Former police officer John Kiernan was allegedly caught on camera knocking out a valet at Ocean Sky Resort & Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on July 25 over a parking ticket dispute. Kiernan was reportedly not arrested or charged with a crime despite evidence of assault.

The surveillance footage shows Kiernan, who had parked his vehicle at the resort, walk up to the valet, identified as Rodolfo Rodriguez, and punch him in the jaw after a short conversation. Rodriguez, who is seen casually standing with his hands in his pockets, falls to the ground and reportedly remained unconscious for several minutes.

Chrystal Myers has filed an injury complaint against Carnival Cruise Lines Inc. in Miami, Florida, news sources indicate. The complaint was reportedly filed in the Miami division of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on February 13 and concerns a fall that Myers experienced due to slippery conditions aboard the Carnival Fascination. Myers is reportedly seeking damages, interest, and legal fees. It is unclear whether other victims have experienced similar injuries aboard the cruise ship and plan on filing similar complaints.

Lawrence Norkunas of Davie, Florida was arrested for allegedly assaulting his neighbors Tina Cerreta and Denys Garcia with pepper spray on December 18. The purported attack caused chemical burns that sent Cerreta to the hospital.

Norkunas, 51, also reportedly threatened the officers who arrested him by saying, “It would be a shame if your family ended up dead when I get out of jail,” and, “It would be a shame if you or other officers got shot.” He faces several charges, including suspicion of commuting burglary with battery, battery causing bodily harm, and corruption by threat against a public servant.

Flack’s Painting & Waterproofing, a Pompano Beach, Florida, painting company, faces $89.793 in fines after the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) completed an investigation into an employee’s workplace injuries.

OSHA initiated the investigation after an unnamed 48-year-old employee reportedly suffered neck and back injuries due to a fall. The worker was repairing balconies at a high-rise property on Ocean Boulevard and fell 18 feet to the ground when the scaffolding he was working on collapsed.
