Darryl Rudolph, the father of former Cardinal Newman High School and Florida State University football star Travis Rudolph, was reportedly shot by Paul Senate of Lantana on April 21.

Rudolph, 55, was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he died the next day, Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday. Senat, 36, was arrested and is being charged with manslaughter. It is unclear if he has acquired the services of an attorney.

Former NFL player Scott Mersereau of Boca Raton, Florida was arrested on February 18 for allegedly punching a 15-year-old teenage boy he accused of throwing eggs at his house. Mersereau, 51, faces a child abuse charge. He was taken to Palm Beach County Jail and was released on Sunday after posting a $3,000 bond. It is unclear if he has acquired the services of an attorney.

According to the arrest report, the alleged abuse occurred on Saturday at a neighborhood in the 1600 block of SW 6th Avenue. Mersereau’s house was egged on Friday. The following day, the former NFL player reportedly went to the teen’s home down the street and accused him of throwing the eggs. It is unclear whether Mersereau saw the victim throwing the eggs or had some other reason to suspect that he was the perpetrator.

Lawrence Taylor, a former New York Giants linebacker, was arrested last Friday for allegedly driving his Bentley into a motor home while under the influence. Taylor, 57, is being charged with a DUI. He was booked into jail in the early hours of Saturday and was released a few hours later on his own recognizance. It is unclear if Taylor has sought legal representation.

According to the police report, Taylor was headed south on Florida’s Turnpike when he reportedly crashed into a motor home that was also southbound. Taylor allegedly veered right after hitting the motor home and sideswiped a marked Florida Highway Patrol squad car that was parked along the right shoulder of the highway.
