Giovanni Seminerio, 48, of Alva, FL, is charged with grand larceny, offering a false instrument for filing, falsifying business records and related charges. He was released and ordered to return to court on November 17. Attorney information was not available.

The accident happened just before 10 a.m. when the workers were in an underground hole checking for a leak. The conflagration forced them back to street level, both suffering severe burns.

blur-builders-building-159306-300x200A worker was reportedly killed by an elevator at a construction site in Midtown Manhattan, NYC.

According to police, the accident occurred at approximately 3:10 p.m. October 24 at 1227 Broadway Avenue between 29th and 30th Street.

The 24-year-old worker was reportedly riding a construction elevator to the 33rd floor when he dropped his phone and was somehow crushed by a metal saddle that protruded from the elevator shaft. Continue reading

architecture-blue-build-162557-300x194Affinity Human Resources and Parkside Construction of Queens, New York, have been charged with workers’ compensation insurance fraud as well as underpaying workers. A number of employees of both companies, including several executives, have been charged. All have pleaded not guilty.

Parkside Construction has worked on several projects during Manhattan’s current building boom, including Steinway Tower in Midtown and the Marriott Hotel on Pearl Street in the Financial District. The New York County District Attorney’s office alleges that Parkside Construction worked together with Affinity to underreport $42 million in payroll between 2014 and 2017.
