Construction worker Samuel Landis reportedly lost his leg on Monday after the debris from the demolition of a condo in Miami Beach spread farther than expected. His condition is listed as critical.

According to news sources, the building slated for demolition was a 13-story, 55-year-old condominium building known as the Marlborough House at 5775 Collins Avenue. The entire building collapsed in seconds, sending debris flying through the area. The debris and dust spread across avenue and shut down one of the main roads.

Delmar O’Sullivan of Miami Beach, Florida was arrested for allegedly groping, kidnapping, and sexually assaulting a woman on Christmas Day.

O’Sullivan, 23, faces charges for sexual battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping. He is being held on bond at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The press did not name an attorney for O’Sullivan.

Oliver Antonio Reyes of Miami Beach, Florida was arrested on November 17 after he allegedly struck a cyclist on Dade Boulevard while under the influence of alcohol. The cyclist was seriously injured but is expected to survive.

David J. Miller of New York was indicted in federal court last week for allegedly stealing $3.6 million from the city of Miami Beach.

Miller, 45, faces 20 counts of bank fraud, one count of access device fraud, and one count of aggravated identity theft. He was arrested in Syracuse, New York on unrelated identity theft charges on May 31. Sources say he is going to be transferred to Florida for his arraignment. Derrick Wiggins was arrested on July 21 for allegedly sexually assaulting a female tourist in Miami Beach, Florida. Wiggins, 30, is charged with sexual battery and is being held on $100,000 bond. It is unclear if he has acquired legal representation.

According to the arrest report, the alleged assault occurred at 8:30 p.m. near the Kantina restaurant in the 800 block of Ocean Drive in South Beach. The victim was reportedly having dinner with her friends at the restaurant when they first saw Wiggins. She later told police that she “felt sorry” for Wiggins as he was confronted by an unknown diner who rudely told him to leave. The victim asked the man to leave Wiggins alone and go back to his dinner.
