Thurston, 46, is charged with manslaughter. It is unclear if she has acquired the services of an attorney.
Darryl Rudolph, the father of former Cardinal Newman High School and Florida State University football star Travis Rudolph, was reportedly shot by Paul Senate of Lantana on April 21.
Rudolph, 55, was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he died the next day, Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday. Senat, 36, was arrested and is being charged with manslaughter. It is unclear if he has acquired the services of an attorney.
Joseph Castronova of Hollywood, Florida, was arrested on December 2 for allegedly causing the death of a man he reportedly choked into unconsciousness more than five years ago. Castronova, 30, faces a manslaughter charge for the death of Sidney Reznik, 68, who died in 2014. He is being held without bond at Broward County Jail and it is unclear if he has hired an attorney.
Broward medical examiner’s office ruled Reznik’s death to be a homicide caused by a “complication of remote blunt head trauma.” Castronova’s alleged chokehold is now believed to be the cause of death—four years after the fact.
Shirley Coto of Deerfield Beach was arrested last Sunday for 22 criminal charges that include DUI, manslaughter, and child neglect. Coto, 40, allegedly drove a vehicle with four unrestrained children inside while impaired without a valid driver’s license. She got into a car accident that killed one of her passengers, six-year-old Ruby Meza.
Coto was booked into Broward Main Jail and had a brief court hearing on Monday where a Broward judge read all of her charges. Her hearing was rescheduled to an unspecified date to give her time to notify her attorney to attend. It is unclear if the judge set bail for Coto.
Yesterday was a first for me. It was the first time I ever saw the lead detective in a murder case take the stand and testify that the accused was not guilty. It was also the first time I ever saw a prosecutor cross-examine his lead investigator and try to impeach him.
Its like we are living in bizarro world over here!
But these shockers are just the beginning. What you are about to learn will blow your mind. In fact, what I saw yesterday actually has me pretty upset. It took me a day of digesting what I saw before I could write about it. More importantly, the implications of yesterday’s testimony go far beyond the defenses in this case.
