Hector Calderon of Greenacres, Florida was arrested for his involvement in a fatal car crash that ended the life of 18-year-old Marielena Plaza. He allegedly crashed into Plaza’s vehicle after running a stop sign on First Street. Calderon was booked into Palm Beach County Jail after his arrest and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond. According to the arrest report filed at the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, Calderon, 19, and his unidentified passenger purportedly tried to flee from the scene of the crash, but a police deputy apprehended Calderon behind a restaurant less than half a mile away from the accident site. Calderon’s passenger was grabbed by a witness.
