Retired police officer James Campbell of Jupiter, Florida was arrested on charges of simple assault, criminal mischief, and aggravated assault after he allegedly kicked in a restaurant door and injured an unnamed truck driver.

Campbell, 51, was ordered held in lieu of a $7,000 bond by Circuit Judge Joseph Marx during a hearing last Thursday. The judge also ordered Campbell to have no contact with the people involved in the case. It is unclear if he has bonded out of jail.

Evelyn Fernandez, a former lieutenant with the Miami-Dade, Florida police department, was arrested for burglary yesterday morning after allegedly she broke into the home of her ex-boyfriend, former Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez.

Fernandez is being charged with burglary and criminal mischief. News sources did not specify whether she is still in police custody or if she has acquired the services of a private attorney.

Kenton Taylor Garret of West Palm Beach, Florida is accused of rear-ending a marked police car with his silver sedan, and faces aggravated assault, aggravated battery, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and hit and run charges. Reports did not specify a lawyer for Garret, who is currently held at the Palm Beach County Jail.

According to a West Palm Beach Police arrest report, Garret, 56, allegedly tried to make a getaway and almost ran down Police Sergeant Bullard after he rear-ended his patrol car. The incident allegedly occurred on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard on a turn near North Congress Avenue.
