Diane Power and her son Thomas Power were struck and critically injured by a car on Monday while at a Bank of America ATM on Congress Avenue and Hypoluxo Road in Boynton Beach, Florida.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Louise Szakacs by Boynton Beach Police. Szakacs, 81, was reportedly pulling her Toyota Camry into a parking space in front of the bank when she lost control of the vehicle and sped over the cement parking stop.

Last month, seven-time Grand Slam winner Venus Williams was reported at fault in a fatal car crash that caused the death of Jerome Barson of West Palm Beach and injured his wife, Linda Barson. But recently released surveillance footage from a guard shack revealed that Williams had “lawfully” entered the intersection where the crash occurred on the afternoon of June 9, sources say.

The footage was released by Palm Beach Gardens police last week, and it reportedly shows Williams had a green light when she drove her SUV into the intersection of BallenIsles Drive and Northlake Boulevard.

Wendell Shepherd, a Broward, Florida detention deputy, was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly ran over a parking lot security guard’s foot while searching for a lost cell phone. Shepherd, 43, was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery with great bodily harm. It is not clear whether he has been granted bail bond or enlisted the services of an attorney.

According to news reports, the incident occurred late on Sunday evening at Virginia Key Beach Park in Miami, Florida. A police officer reportedly witnessed the event. The name of the victim has not been released; it is not clear whether the victim or their family will be seeking damages. He reportedly suffered from a broken ankle.

A family of seven from Eagle Mountain, Utah were hit by James Howell’s vehicle on March 26 as they were walking back to their hotel after dinner. Raquel Leota, 24, lost her leg and her 10-year-old brother Tyson Wensel was severely injured. It is not clear whether Howell is facing charges or has hired an attorney.

According to Broward Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place in Dania Beach. The family had flown into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport over the weekend for an annual family cruise scheduled on Monday morning.
