Juan “Johnny” Ramos, director of player development and coaching at the Plantation Eagles Soccer Club, was arrested on August 25 for allegedly sexually abusing a member of the American Heritage School soccer club when she was 13 years old. Ramos, 43, faces four counts of sexual battery against a minor. Judge Michael Davis denied Ramos’ request for house arrest and ordered him held without bond in Broward County jail. News sources did not name an attorney for Ramos.
According to the police report, the alleged abuse took place in a five-year period between 2003 and 2008. The victim is now 26 years old. After receiving therapy, she decided to report the abuse to authorities on August 13.
