Mario Perez of Pembroke Pines, Florida was arrested on April 17 for allegedly assaulting two teenagers, Tyler Muraida and a 15-year-old friend, with a gun. The attack purportedly occurred because the teens’ car was making too much noise as they drove through the neighborhood.

Perez, 49, faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, and two counts of armed burglary. He was denied bond by Judge Michael Usan during a bail hearing yesterday at the request of prosecutor John Tolley.

Angel Echevarria of Miami, Florida is standing trial today on three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. The former soldier, who now serves in dual roles as a Department of Homeland Security special agent and a deputy U.S. marshal, is facing the charges because of a road rage incident that led him to fire his service weapon at another vehicle.

Echevarria, 44, told investigators that he acted in self-defense when he fired his handgun. He was off-duty at the time and was driving with his wife and their five children. After his arrest, he pleaded not guilty during his first court appearance and blamed the other driver for his actions. He was released on a $15,000 bail.

Michael Mario Delgado of Hialeah, Florida was arrested on January 26 for his alleged involvement in a fight that left Javier Prado severely wounded. Delgado, 23, faces charges for attempted second-degree murder, grand theft, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and bonded out the following day. News sources did not name an attorney for Delgado.

According to the police report, the fight took place at around 9:30 p.m. on January 26. Delgado and some other men, two of whom were identified as Christian Hernandez and Javier Prado, reportedly got into a fight in a mall parking lot at 6905 W. 12th Avenue in Hialeah.

Vanessa Barcelo of Hialeah, Florida, was arrested on December 21 for allegedly assaulting David Duperon at a party she threw at her home to promote her baking business. Duperon, 34, claims Barcelo, 26, pushed him from behind with an aluminum baseball bat and struck him him on his right shoulder. An unknown man reportedly joined the altercation and repeatedly hit the victim in the face and eye area.

Barcelo has been charged with aggravated battery, simple battery, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and was later released after paying a $1,500 bond. The press did not name an attorney for Barcelo.

Retired police officer James Campbell of Jupiter, Florida was arrested on charges of simple assault, criminal mischief, and aggravated assault after he allegedly kicked in a restaurant door and injured an unnamed truck driver.

Campbell, 51, was ordered held in lieu of a $7,000 bond by Circuit Judge Joseph Marx during a hearing last Thursday. The judge also ordered Campbell to have no contact with the people involved in the case. It is unclear if he has bonded out of jail.
