Ricardo Lambert and Bret Eric Krupnik were injured in a Fort Lauderdale, Florida accident on Monday, news sources report. The incident occurred when Lambert fell of his motorcycle, which then fell onto Krupnik’s car. Lambert, 22, and Krupnik, 40, both sustained minor injuries in the accident and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash; they have yet to indicate whether they plan to file charges or cite Lambert. It is also unclear whether Krupnik will file for damages.
Reports say the accident occurred around 7:00 Monday evening on Interstate 95 near the State Road 84 exit ramp. Interstate 95, an eight-lane road whose opposing lanes are separated by a concrete barrier, is one of Florida’s busiest expressways.
According to reports, Lambert turned his 2004 Suzuki off I-95 and onto the SR84 exit ramp. He then proceeded up the ramp and lost control of his bike when he attempted to make a left turn. Lambert fell off his motorcycle, which kept on driving without him. The bike struck a wall, flipped, and plummeted into traffic on I-95.
The motorcycle landed on Krupnik’s car and exploded in flames, sources say. Fortunately, Krupnik escaped the vehicle before the flames completely consumed his car. Paramedics transported Lambert to the Broward Health Medical Center and Krupnik to the Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment. A Florida Highway Patrol Spokesperson said neither of the drivers sustained life-threatening injuries.
The FHP is currently looking into the details of the accident and has not released any additional details. The northbound lanes of I95 were closed for an hour while rescue crews cleared the scene. Images of the accident showed the charred skeletal remains of Krupnik’s 1994 Nissan Sentra and Lambert’s motorcycle, which appeared to have split in half in the fiery crash.
Camil Paquet of Pompano Beach lost his life in another motorcycle accident earlier this month, reports say. Paquet, 64, collided with a car in Boca Raton and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment; he later died of his injuries. Information regarding the car’s driver was not available following the wreck, though police say the driver was 16 years old and did not sustain injury. Police are currently investigating the accident and have not said whether the minor driver will be charged or cited.
According to reports, the accident occurred on March 23 in the 800 block of East Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton. E Palmetto Park Rd is a four-lane road with yellow lines separating the opposing lanes. Paquet was westbound on his Harley Davidson when he collided with a 2008 Infiniti. The exact details of the collision are not yet clear.
Paramedics transported Paquet to the Delray Medical Center for treatment. Sources say he sustained critical injuries and died sometime after arriving at the hospital. Detectives are currently looking into the details of the accident and have not made any comments as to who was at fault. Police have asked anyone with additional details to contact they Traffic Homicide department.
