Orville Bullitt Arrested in Osceola County, FL for Child Pornography

Orville H. Bullitt was arrested in Osceola County, Florida last week on 144 counts of child pornography. Bullitt was arrested at his mother’s home, where he was living. He is currently being held at the Osceola County jail on a $1.44 million bail bond. He will reportedly be transported to Broward County Jail soon. No word on whether Bullitt has retained a private criminal defense attorney. Fort Lauderdale Criminal Lawyer Brian Y. Silber, Esq.jpg

Bullitt, who has lived in Davie, Pembroke Pines, Miami Shores, and North Miami,
was arrested as a result of an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Cyber High Tech Crime Squad. Investigators first suspected Bullitt when they traced file sharing of child pornography back to his computer’s IP address.

After obtaining a search warrant, investigators searched Bullitt’s Pembroke Pines home, located on the 7000 block of Northwest 12th Street, and found hundreds of images of children. So far 144 of those images have been determined to be pornographic.

“The images found showed child victims in various sexual depictions,” said Addy Villanueva, an FDLE representative. “The crimes committed by Bullit are unspeakable and unforgivable.”

Authorities are concerned that the pornography may have been obtained through the abuse of minors in South Florida. “We found other images that are unrelated to the 144 images that he’s currently charged with, and those are leading us to believe there are other victims here. Possibly in here in South Florida. Our experience has shown that people who typically own child pornography tend to be hands-on offenders,” explained Will Hernandez, also of the FDLE. The FDLE is asking the public to come forward with any information concerning Bullitt’s victims.

Bullitt has a criminal record involving minors: he was convicted of sexually molesting a Miami-Dade County child in 1985. However, sex offender registration laws were not around at the time, so Bullitt is not on the public sex offenders’ list. Bullitt was arrested again in Miami-Dade County for sexual battery of a minor in 2003. The charges were later dropped.

Some of Bullitt’s former neighbors expressed that they were concerned about his behavior even before the arrests. Kim Rosado, who lives behind his former Davie home in the 200 block of Southwest 38th Court, says that Bullitt invited her three daughters, aged 7, 9, and 17, to go swimming in the pool he had in his back yard on several occasions. He also tried to approach 17-year-old Charlotte Bork by talking to her over the fence that divided the back yards of the two properties on several occasions, alleges the eldest daughter.

“He was a creeper. He was always trying to tell me nasty things,” Charlotte told the media.

Charlotte’s mother told the press that she had instructed her children not to talk to Bullitt. “I never wanted them to be near him,” said Rosado. “I always got a weird sense from him,” she said.

Bullitt’s arrest is one in a string of Florida sex offense arrests. According to reports, sex offender arrests in Florida rose by 74% in 2010, partially thanks to a large-scale cyber sting that resulted in 50 Florida child porn arrests last December.
