Nyan’s arrest comes after a string of fraud allegations involving South Floridian home health care aides. Three home health aides – Angela Byrd, Tanecia Josephs, and – were arrested in Fort Lauderdale in late June after the family of a 99-year-old woman accused them of stealing nearly $400,000. The trio allegedly accomplished this by writing checks to themselves or padding their alloted paychecks, then having the woman sign them.

Byrd, who worked for the anonymous victim from January 2008 to March 2010, is accused of being the ringleader. The other two women worked for shorter period, subbing for Byrd when she was unavailable. The alleged theft came to light when family members discovered that the elderly woman’s health expenses with extremely high.
