Edna Rico-Cordona, Yeniffer Roldon-Salas, Daniel Casadiego Gutierrez, and Jonathan Javier Bayonarrico Arrested in Palm Beach, Florida for Grand Theft

Edna Rico-Cordona, Yeniffer Roldon-Salas, Jonathan Javier Bayonarrico, and Daniel Casadiego Gutierrez were arrested on May 20 in Palm Beach, Florida for allegedly running an international theft ring that stole over $300,000 in luxury goods from retailers in South Florida. All four face grand theft charges. News sources did not specify whether bond has been set or if any members of the group have acquired the services of a defense attorney.

According to a news release by Palm Beach Police, the alleged theft ring was “sophisticated,” with some members distracting store clerks in the high-end stores while others stole expensive merchandise and stored them in “booster” bags. The bags were lined with aluminum foil and could safely carry the merchandise through anti-shoplifting alarms, sources indicate.

Police found out about the group on May 14 when Rico-Cordona and Roldon-Salas were allegedly seen stealing merchandise from a Chanel boutique in Palm Beach. The two women reportedly fled in a rented van driven by Gutierrez, who has been identified as a foreign resident from Colombia.

A police task force was deployed to track down the van, which was allegedly found to contain stolen designer goods from Gucci, Burberry, Prada, and other luxury retailers. Police believe that the group was planning to ship the stolen items to Colombia before they were intercepted. Evidence reportedly shows that some boxes of luxury products had already been shipped to Colombia before the group was arrested.

The news release states that Bayonarrico was eventually identified as the fourth member of the group. His job was to purportedly distract store employees while others stole the merchandise. In addition to the Chanel store on Worth Avenue, the alleged theft ring is believed to have targeted luxury retailers in Coral Gables and The Dolphin Mall in Miami. All four members of the group were arrested at a hotel in Oakland Park on May 20.
