One person dead in Car Accident on I-75 in Weston, Florida

Thumbnail image for Injury Lawyer Fort Lauderdale.jpgBREAKING NEWS: A serious car accident is being reported this afternoon in Weston, Florida. According to news reports, one person has been killed. The car accident happened north of Royal Palm Boulevard around 3:30 pm. The details of the accident are presently unknown, but are under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.

As this investigation unfolds, the first step by police will be to secure the area and treat the injured. From there, traffic homicide investigators will go about reconstructing the car accident.

This will include drawing a sketch of the crime scene that maps out the direction of travel of the vehicles involved, their points of impact, and their points of rest. Police will also be collecting physical evidence from the scene, such as photographs of treadmarks and gouging in the roadway. If video surveillance is available from nearby cameras, those items will be retrieved as well.

This information will be extremely important for any injury lawyer who becomes involved in this case because it will reveal who is responsible for causing the accident. In order to obtain compensation in a car accident case, an injury lawyer needs to establish that the responsible party did something wrong to cause the accident. The injury attorney will also need to establish that the victim party suffered injuries.

In other words, a successful injury lawyer will need to establish liability plus injury, at a minimum, in order to build a winning case for his/her client.

Hiring an injury attorney at this stage is extremely important because handling this matter the right way from the beginning is essential. Preserving evidence and preparing the case for litigation is best handled with an early start. As cases age, evidence gets lost, witnesses cannot be found, and memories fade.

Again, the facts of this case are still unfolding as it is being investigated. We will be reporting more as additional information comes to light.

Most importantly, our condolences go out to the deceased and his/her family.
