Utah-Family-300x168A family of seven from Eagle Mountain, Utah were hit by James Howell’s vehicle on March 26 as they were walking back to their hotel after dinner. Raquel Leota, 24, lost her leg and her 10-year-old brother Tyson Wensel was severely injured. It is not clear whether Howell is facing charges or has hired an attorney.

According to Broward Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place in Dania Beach. The family had flown into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport over the weekend for an annual family cruise scheduled on Monday morning.

car-crash-300x200AutoNation executive Elaine May of Pompano Beach, Florida was killed on March 20 in a Fort Lauderdale car crash.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, the crash occurred at NW 15th Avenue near Lockhart Stadium at 7:20 p.m. last Monday. May was driving a Nissan Maxima south when an Infiniti G35 traveling west on West Commercial Boulevard crashed into her vehicle. May died at the scene. It is unclear if the other driver was injured.

Marquet-Robison-300x169Marquet Robinson of Palm Beach County, Florida was struck and killed by Emmanuel Ernevil while working on Southern Boulevard on March 22.

According to Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on the far right lane of the eastbound Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach on Wednesday before 8 a.m. Robinson, 25, was placing traffic cones behind his work truck and trailer when Ernevil, who was driving a 2000 Mercedes in the same lane, lost control and crashed into Robinson’s truck.

Raul-Castellon-252x300Hialeah police officer Raul Castellon was arrested on March 17 for allegedly using a confidential police database to take screen shots of people’s personal IDs, including Social Security numbers and driver’s licenses, and sharing them with Neilin Diaz in exchange for gifts.

Castellon, 38, faces charges for aggravated identity fraud, possession of unauthorized access devices, conspiracy to commit access fraud, and affecting commerce by extortion under color of official right.

He is being held in Miami on $50,000 bond and has reportedly entered a not guilty plea before a federal judge. News sources have not named an attorney for Castellon.

Saryna-Parker-240x300Eight-grade science teacher Saryna Parker of South Dade Middle School was arrested on March 19 for allegedly causing a rear-end crash while driving under the influence with her 10-year-old son in the car. Parker, 43, also purportedly kicked the police officer who arrested her in the groin.

Parker faces multiple charges, including DUI, DUI with property damage, child abuse, and battery of a police officer. She was booked into jail and was later released on an unspecified bond. News sources did not say if she has hired an attorney.
